Sometime earlier today, Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa welcomed Aung San Suu Kyi, Burmese opposition politician and chairperson of the National League for Democracy (NLD) in Burma, for an audience at the palais. The 1991 Nobel Peace Prize laureate is currently visiting the Grand Duchy to meet with the European Union's 28 foreign ministers, who are currently in the country for meetings of the EU’s Foreign Affairs Council and the General Affairs Council, over a luncheon.

Also today, the Grand Duke met with prime minister Juncker to talk about yesterday's election. Grand Duke Henri has asked Juncker that the government shall remain in office until the formation of a new one. It will be upon the Grand Duke to mandate a party leader to form a government within the next few days, maybe weeks.
